INTRODUCTION
Theravada Buddhism the state religion of Cambodia has been a lasting element to Khmer culture and has given the Cambodian people endurance throughout a melancholy history, the government of Cambodia understands this demonstrating a recognition of the significance of Buddhism for the Khmer national identity. Whilst some countries have religion-state relationships that are inconsistent with the countries constitution, Cambodia's government has a healthy relationship with the religions in the country.
